ABOUT

Collection of research materials “Spirituality of a Personality: Methodology, Theory and Practice” has been published by the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University since 2004.

The collection of research materials comes out 6 times a year.
It touches upon the issues of actual problems of methodology, theory and practice of development of a person’s spiritual culture in modern social and cultural conditions.

The science officers, post-graduate students, and pedagogues-practitioners in the field of pedagogics and psychology of spirituality can use the materials of the collection.

The collection of research materials is included into the List of scientific professional editions of Ukraine in which the results of theses on obtaining the scientific degrees of Doctor and Candidate of pedagogical sciences are published (approved by the Law of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine from December, 12th, 2017 № 1714).

The certificate of registration of the printing mass media “Spirituality of a Personality: Methodology, Theory and Practice” series KB № 9008 from July 28, 2004.

Papers of the collection are reviewed by the members of the Editorial Board.

The collection of research materials practices open access policy to the published materials, supporting principles of free exchange of the scientific information and global exchange of knowledge for the general public progress.

GUIDELINES FOR THE AUTHORS

TO THE ATTENTION OF THE AUTHORS! NEW GUIDELINES 2018

According to the Decision of the Higher Certifying Commission of Ukraine #7-05/1 from 15.01.2003 “About increase of requirements to the professional editions included into the list of the Higher Certifying Commission of Ukraine” all research papers should generally have the following parts:

  • Problem statement in a general view and its connection with important scientific and practical problems;
  • Analysis of the last researches and publications in which the decision of the problem has begun and on which the author grounds his research;
  • Setting of unsolved parts of the shared problem to which the article is devoted;
  • Purposes of the article formulation (problem statement);
  • Statement of the basic research material with full substantiation of the received scientific results;
  • Conclusions and prospects of the further investigations in the given direction.

    General requirements for articles:
  • Page format: А4, book format.
  • Page margins: left - 3 cm, right – 1,5 cm, top and down – 2,5 cm;
  • Spacing – 1,5;
  • Print – Times New Roman;
  • Type size: 14.
  • Article volume: 6-12 pages.
  • Working languages of the Collection of research materials: Ukrainian, Russian, and English
  • Use of marks and symbols: dash –, apostrophe ', paws «…» (Ukrainian and Russian), ''…'' (English), for non-breakable spaces Ctrl + Shift + spacebar, markers (·,—,▶,…), numbering 1.
    Structural elements of the article:
  • UDC – on the top line at the left side of the article (14-point type size).
  • Title of the article – in a line, centered alignment, bold with capital letters.
  • Initials and Surname of the author in a line to the right, bold;
  • ORCiD (if it is available).
  • Abstract (maximum 1800 words) and key words in the language of the article – in a line, italics, Script Times New Roman 12-point type size.
  • Text of the paper itself – in a line, beginning the new paragraph (14-point type size) (indent of the first line - 1,27 cm).
  • Literature – in a line after the text of the article (12-point type size). The word Literature should be printed in bold type with centered alignment (Script Times New Roman, 12-point type size) (general quantity of literature sources should not exceed 20). Literature is executed according to DSTU 8302: 2015, the references to literature in the text of the article are made according to the international style APA (American Psychological Association).
  • References (that is the list of transliterated Literature) – in a line after the Literature of the article (12-point type size). The word References should be printed in bold type with centered alignment (Script Times New Roman, 12-point type size) and is executed according to the international style APA. Transliteration of sources titles should be done using on-line services: for sources in Ukrainian - http://translit.kh.ua/?passport; for sources in Russian - http://translit.cc or http://translit.net/en/bgn/; the sources in the foreign language are not transliterated. The translation into English of the title of the book, article etc. should be put in square brackets just after the transliterated title of the book, article, etc.
  • Title of the article (bold, centered alignment), initials and surname of the author (bold, right alignment), abstracts and key words in two other working languages of the collection – in a line, in the two working languages of the collection (Script Times New Roman, 12-point type size, in italics, 1800 symbols maximum).
  • Information about the author (surname, name, patronymic name, scientific degree, academic status, position held, place of work, New Post address, telephone, e-mail) – in a line in Ukrainian and English languages (Script Times New Roman, 12-point type size).
  • The text should be printed without hyphenation, dash should differ from hyphen; the use of the same quotation marks in the whole text of the article is necessary («…» – in Ukrainian and Russian and ''…'' in English).
  • Tables and others non-text objects should be numbered and placed in the text. The word Figure should be placed under the figure, alignment on the centre (Fig. 1…). The word Table should be placed above the table, right alignment (Table 1), Script Times New Roman, 12-point type size.
We welcome the publication of authors with ORCID and availability of references to publications with DOI in the list of literature.

The collection is issued 6 times a year, that is once in two months. Deadline for sending the articles: February, 10th – Issue # 1; April, 10th – Issue # 2; June, 10th – Issue # 3; August, 10th – Issue # 4; October, 10th – Issue # 5; December, 10th – Issue #6.

The electronic variant of the article should be send to the E-mail of the Editorial Board for further reviewing and publication. In several days the author will receive the e-mail from the Editorial Board with approval or rejection of the article for publication in the Collection and further instructions.

Electronic variant of the paper should be shaped in such a way:

  • First file – text of the article prepared by means of text editor Microsoft Word (name of the document consists of the surname of the author and the date when the article was sent to the editorial board of the collection, for example, Petrenko-23.01.06.doc);
  • Second file – information about the author.doc (file name – author's last name, for example, Petrenko.doc);
  • Third file – payment receipt (it is sent after receipt of the notice of acceptance of the article for publication).

ETHICS

PUBLISHING ETHICS

Editorial policy of the collection of research materials "Spirituality of a Personality: Methodology, Theory and Practice", founder of which is Scientific Research Institute of Spiritual Development of Man of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, is aimed at adhering to ethical standards that are accepted by the international scientific community and correspond to the scientific direction of the collection, which is defined by the Certificate of State Registration and quality standards of scientific works accepted in the scientific community.
Publishing Ethics of the Collection of Research Materials "Spirituality of a Personality: Methodology, Theory and Practice" is worked out on the basis of the documents: Ethical Code of Scientist of Ukraine, Publishing Ethics and Elsevier recommendations; International Standards for Editorial Board and Author.

An important condition for the acceptance of an article to print is the availability of the new original material or new scientific understanding of already known scientific material; non-availability of borrowings without corresponding references or the preliminary agreement; availability of authentic facts, exact description of research results, enough details and bibliographic references for possible reproduction.
In case the author needs to publish a previously published article in the new version, he must submit a bibliographic reference for previous publications and justify the relevance of the publication of the new variant, explaining the changes made to the last version of the article.
It is unacceptable to represent plagiarism as an original work and submit to publication a previously published article. In case of detection of plagiarism responsibility is carried by the authors of the submitted materials.
The collection allows the authors to keep copyright without limitations.

PROTECTION OF AUTHORS’ RIGHTS

Any manuscript received for review is the intellectual property of the authors and is not subject to disclosure with any person who does not have the editorial authority. The editor and members of the editorial board should not provide other persons with any information about the article, such as the terms of receipt, content, stages and features of the review, comments made by the reviewers, and the final decision on the publication, except the authors and reviewers. Violation of this requirement is possible only in case of presence of signs or statement about the unreliability or falsification of the materials of the article.
Reviewing is conducted confidentially on the principles of double-blind review (double-blind "review", when neither the author nor the reviewer knows about each other). The interaction between the author and reviewers takes place through the executive editor of the collection of research materials.
After the adoption of a positive editorial decision, the article is published in the collection and placed on the appropriate electronic resources. In accordance with international law, in respect of copyright compliance, electronic information resources, materials, electronic collection of research materials or project may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any form (electronic or print) without the prior written consent of the authors and editorial board of the collection. When using published materials in the context of other documents, a reference to the original source is required.

EDITORIAL POLICY

For successful acceptance for publication in the collection of research materials "Spirituality of a Personality: Methodology, Theory and Practice" the scientific articles should meet the following requirements: submission of the unique manuscript in the formats .doc or .docx in Ukrainian, English or Russian languages; compliance with the journal requirements for execution of the articles; successful passing of all the stages of reviewing.
1st stage – the author sends the manuscript, which meet the requirements of the collection to the address of the executive editor of the collection svetlana101068@gmail.com or zbirnyk.domtp@gmail.com;
2d stage – checking the article for plagiarism using the appropriate software (https://advego.com/plagiatus/);
3d stage – reviewing is held, firstly, by the member of the Editorial Board, then by the invited reviewer, who has deep professional knowledge and experience of work that is connected with the subject of the study of the submitted article. Reviewing is held in confidence by the principles of double-blind reviewing (two-way "blind" review, when neither the author nor the reviewer do not know each other). In case of questions regarding the content, execution, etc., the article is sent to the author with the suggestion to take into account the comments in preparing an updated version of the article or to refute them, substantiating their own position. The corrected version of the article is resent to the reviewer for the final decision on the possibility of its publication.
4th stage - the final decision on the possibility of the publication is adopted by the chief editor and if necessary during meeting of the editorial board as a whole.
Materials are published in author's edition. The author takes responsibility for the scientific content and quality of submissions. Editorial Board reserves the right to refuse printing of the materials that do not meet these requirements.
In case of publication of a particular type of articles (for example, translated articles), authors and reviewers of interested journals must agree to a secondary publication that does not conflict with the ethical standards of publication providing mandatory submission of the same data as in the original published work.
